AW26 Carried forward is inspired by Rosendal and the Barony, where centuries of craftsmanship, ornament and architecture continue to shape the character of the place. Historic details are translated into contemporary knitwear through carefully considered design, premium natural materials and garments designed for everyday wear.

Rosendal lies at the mouth of the Hardangerfjord, surrounded by mountains, lush nature and a vibrant cultural life — under two hours from our factory in Ytre Arna. It is a place we return to for focus and renewal.

The Barony has stood here for centuries. It bears the mark of something shaped slowly over time, with deep respect for both landscape and craftsmanship. We share the belief that well-crafted objects and garments gain greater value, and are cared for more attentively.

The landscape surrounding the Barony is both lush and structured. Grand trees, useful plants and ornamental flowers stand side by side. We feel at home in an environment where aesthetics and practicality are inseparable — a sensibility that also shapes the way we design. A garment should be cherished like a piece of jewellery, while fitting naturally into everyday life.

Walking through the garden paths is a sensory experience that lingers. Light filters through the foliage, the fjord glimmers below the village, and the mountains form a constant backdrop. For generations, artists, craftspeople and thinkers have found inspiration here. We return for much the same reason: to observe, to slow down, and to carry the colours, atmosphere and quiet richness of the surroundings into our work.

The Barony's interiors are rich and layered, where decoration and ornament appear throughout — on walls, furniture and everyday objects alike. Details reveal themselves everywhere: an expression shaped slowly over time, grounded in respect for craftsmanship and natural materials.

Throughout the collection, historical details are translated into knit in different ways. A French tapestry dating from the 1660s inspired a series of knitted accessories, while the Rosemaling cardigan reinterprets hand-painted motifs and fern forms as organic knitted structures. Details once belonging to interiors and architecture are here carried into garments and accessories made to be worn and lived in.

Expressive designs are balanced by calm, solid-coloured pieces such as the Baroniet jacket and Baroniet trousers. Together, the collection encourages personal combinations, where ornament and simplicity exist in balance.

The colour palette reflects the surroundings of Rosendal: deep browns inspired by timber and earth, cool blues recalling the fjord and glacier, and warm reds and oranges from the Barony's interiors and gardens. Tone-on-tone combinations create harmony, while carefully placed contrasts add depth and character.

Materials are chosen with the same care. Merino wool and silk bring warmth, comfort and lightness to the collection. Crafted from premium natural fibres, each piece is made to be worn often, cared for and enjoyed over time.
