Oleana + Norlender

We live for Norwegian production. It’s actually our core idea and why we exist. For us, it’s important that the Norwegian textile industry both remains and evolves. And we love to collaborate with likeminded people! Doing so, we gain more knowledge, as well as putting Norwegian design on the agenda.

Norlender, is a small family-run knitwear factory on the next island from Ytre Arna, just a short boat trip away. The Tveiten family has been knitting in Hosanger for almost 100 years, making classic Norwegian fisherman’s sweaters that will last you a lifetime.

Being makers, and the concept making itself, was the starting point for Oleana AW21. In our strange pandemic times, making felt more important than ever, with everything else in flux. We reached out to other makers around us, and ended up gaining forces with Norlender, to make something together.

Using locally sourced wool, we made two jackets. These jackets has references to old-school Norwegian knits, but with a playful and contemporary twist. Both forever keepers in your wardrobe.

The Flux Jacket is knitted in 100% Norwegian wool – it’s sturdy and warm, and can be worn as an outer garment as well as indoors on a chilly day. Serving you a floral pattern jacquard, chunky ribs and an old school sportswear vibe.

The Mixed Media Jacket is where Oleana’s playfulness meets Norlenders distinctive and qualities of locally sourced wool. It’s actually made at both factories, the production process including a boat ride across the fjord.
