You'll find us just outside of central Bergen.

Producing knitwear in Ytre Arna is at the center and core for who we are, it’s why we exist. We’re situated in a building from 1856, that once housed the first textile mill in west Norway, built on top of a river, right by the fjord. Inside it lives a whole universe to explore. Our knitting production is open for visitors five days a week.

Ytre Arna is a 20 minutes drive from central Bergen. You are welcome to park your car right outside the factory, at our guest parking.

Train and bus
Take the train from Bergen to Arna stasjon (8 minutes). From Arna you take bus no. 91 towards Åsane Terminal, get off at Ytre Arna sentrum.

Bus
Take the bus from Bergen Busstasjon to Åsane Terminal. From Åsane take bus no. 91 towards Arna Terminal, get off at Ytre Arna sentrum.

Once in Ytre Arna – take the stairs down to the fjord and you’ll see our big white Factory building.

Are you a roaming explorer or eager to learn the facts?
Either way, the Oleana factory is open from Monday to Friday 9-15. We would love to show you around. If you’re in a bigger group, booking a guided tour is recommended.

Shop
At the Factory shop, we carry the absolute whole range of Oleana products, and can give you the best service. We can help out with alterations and special requests at the factory right up the stairs. The factory shop is filled with gems: unique pieces, discontinued collections and production samples at a discounted price.

Have a sweet time
Stop by the café and have a cup of coffee. Grab a seat and take in the view of the stunning Sørfjorden. Give us a heads up if you're a group coming – lunch can be arranged. How about a slice of our signature homemade bread, a refreshing salad or a taste of our famous cinnamon buns?

Oleana was founded in 1992 as a reaction to other textile factories in Norway outsourcing their production abroad. Our protest against mass manufacturing and cheap labor made us who we are today - determined to show that it is possible to create quality knitwear locally, in good working conditions, and always with a clear mission on reducing our carbon footprint. Changing the game from the inside, with patience and quality in every step of the way.

Every Oleana garment is knitted, linked, sewn, pressed, quality checked and packaged at the factory. That means we have full control over the production processes and the conditions in which our products are made.

Transparency is key, that’s why our factory is always open for visitors. Sharing our knowledge on textiles and production, creating and learning together, makes for a more sustainable mindset for fashion's future.
