At the Barony in Rosendal, by the Hardangerfjord, hand-painted interior motifs appear that echo traditional rosemaling, yet in a freer and more direct form. Applied with broad, confident brushstrokes directly onto walls and panelling, the expression is spontaneous and painterly — decorative, but not sweet. The organic shapes recall the ferns that thrive in Rosendal’s gardens: lush, rhythmic and gently swirling.

The Rosemaling cardigan draws on these expressions, carrying a tradition-rich craft into a contemporary context. Knitted in a straight silhouette with organic forms that grow across the surface, it is worked in a subtle tone-on-tone palette and finished with considered details such as glass buttons and a neatly linked neckline. Tradition and folklore, translated for now — and for what comes next.
